Less than 30 days to go aarrrr

Saturday 11 May 2013 - Yes it was a bit scary to find that we have only 28 days left before the half marathon in St Albans. Jules and I were looking at a short run today but thought we would concentrate on these pesky hills that we do not like. We started out and managed to run up the mountain (slight exaggeration it is a very large hill), within our first mile and we managed it without stopping (last attempted we walked twice before we reached the top). So now we were on a role, so to speak, we ran 6.5 miles and went for any hill we could find instead of our normal tactic of avoiding them by changing our route. We were a little slower than we have been before but it was a worth while run, with a little running time along the canal and during the run we saw rabbits, ducks, lambs and a large bird in flight which was lovely to see.

I have just had a look at my running log and over the 4 months of my training so far I have been out on 33 trips (it feels like 133 at times). I have run the total of 156 miles and burned off 17,235 calories (so why am I still a stone over weight!). Perhaps another run short today to tackle those hills again......
