Running down the Nile (sort of)
Wednesday 13 March - 7.45am We have left the Nile and are at the resort. I did find the gym yesterday but I failed to get up early enough to get overt there (in the next complex) and have enough time to have a decent run so I decided to go along the sea front. It is a beautiful view and there are a few people about but it was soooo HOT. I know it makes a change from always moaning about being cold but that was really hard work and I only managed about 20 minutes I really struggled. I never feel as though I fit in as I am always so slow and other joggers make it look so easy as they cruse by me but at least I am making an effort.
Saturday 9 March 2013 - 6.50am. I am not normally awake early ever, let alone on holiday but I keep thinking about Dad so I thought I had better get up and run again it seems to help and it makes the marathon all the more important to complete. We are still down the Nile and it is lovely to watch the world go by it is like you are in another world. It is so good to be able to run through my feelings and have this time to myself this morning. I was going to run for 60 minutes and then cool down but the machine stopped at 60 minutes so I walked up and down the top deck for a few laps to cool down. Time for breakfast again yum yum.
Friday 8 March 2013 - It is 7am again and we are still on the Nile. Weather is nice, not to hot and certainly not to cold and I can watch the Nile wake up as I run. This morning however I have had some very sad news as my father has passed away during the night so as I run the tears are falling. I am trying to take in the news that I will never again be able to give him a kiss and a hug ever again. He went quietly in the night and will no longer be getting muddled or cross from the Alzheimer's he is at peace now. I managed 50 Minutes but another guest wants to use the machine and I need to pull myself together before I go to breakfast. Night night Dad god bless I love you.
Wednesday 6 March 2013 - It is 7am and I am on the running machine on the top deck of our boat as we amble down the Nile. There is only a couple of members of staff about and another lady who is at the other end of the deck doing some stretching exercises. The sun is not at its full strength yet so it is not to hot and it is lovely just watching the river bank come to life. I have managed 45 minutes and it feels really good, it makes a change for it not to be cold and dark. Time for breakfast now I think.
We have been away for a couple of weeks which is why I have not updated my blog but I did go running so I will add these runs now.
